Yesterday, I had another meeting with the guys who are offering me the medical device job. The good news is that they still like me and it seems like I'm definitely lined up for this job. Since my parents are both surgeons and I'm a reasonably intelligent and well-spoken guy, they think I'd be a great fit for a job selling their products. They were worried that spending a couple of days with the sales team would turn me off, but it actually made me even more interested in the position.
The bad news is that they're still pretty vague about when it's going to start. They want to get a manager position filled by October 1st, after which they think my position will start to fall into place. Best case scenario, I think I'm looking at a November start date.
I need to find a part-time job or some temp-work to make some money until November comes around.
Good luck! I hope the medical device job pans out sooner than November! I had a client once who worked in medical sales and he earned $100k++. He was always on the road though, all over the U.S.
